The Friday Greenhouse: A Liturgy for the God Who Is Truly There
This is a space to lay down the “First God” you were handed and rest in the silence that follows. Pull the weeds of the distant or controlling god, and plant seeds of kindness and love in their place.
This is a short practice for the end of the week. Find a quiet seat, put your feet flat on the floor, and take a breath that reaches all the way to your belly.
The Nervous System Check-In
Before you “pray” or “reflect,” notice your body. When you think the word “God,” what happens?
Do your shoulders tighten?
Do you feel a “hollow” feeling in your chest?
Do you feel a need to sit up straighter or perform?
Just notice it. This is your “First God”—the one your nervous system memorized before you could even speak. Thank your body for trying to protect you, and give it permission to soften for just five minutes.
The full Friday Greenhouse and the audio blessing are available to the Grace in the Weeds paid community. Join us to access this week’s sanctuary bundle.
