Quick recap: On Tuesday we met the first community that tried to actually live Jesus’ manifesto — the early church in Acts, who held everything in common so that “there was not a needy person among them,” a Jubilee made real. And we named the hard truth that for many of us, community was where the wound happened — so this is about a different, safer kind of belonging.
If community is where you were hurt, your body knows it. Belonging itself can feel unsafe — the very thing you long for can also make you brace. That’s not brokenness; that’s a nervous system that learned, for good reason, that groups can be dangerous. We’re not going to override that today. We’re going to honor it, and gently make a little room for the possibility of being held again — on your terms, at your pace.
