This week we sat with Jacob, who wrestled God all night and would not let go. Here is your exhale.
May you know that your anger has not pushed you out of God’s reach.
God has held people who were angrier.
God stayed with every one of them.
May you find the courage to say the hard thing to God’s face,
and the relief of finding God still there
when you’re done.
Where you are angry at yourself,
may God ask your name gently,
and may you hear what God calls you now.
May the night of wrestling end in daybreak.
May the blessing come.
And if you walk away limping,
may you know the limp is holy,
a sign that you met God and didn’t let go.
You are still held. You are still beloved.
You are loved, exactly as you are.
Rest now. The work will keep till Monday.
