Start here.
If you are lying in bed at night feeling guilty for questioning what you were taught in church…
If you love Jesus but just walking into a church building gives you anxiety…
If you are looking to make sense of the contradictions in the Bible…
You are not crazy. You are not losing your faith. You’re ready to clear out the clutter of the religious systems and find a faith that actually works and a God that actually likes you.
Hey there, I’m Amanda. I’m a seminary-trained pastor, a single mom, an avid cyclist, and a keeper of goats. I spent years trying to twist my brain into pretzels to defend rigid religious rules, until I realized God wasn’t trying to make me believe or know the ‘correct’ things - God was trying to meet me in my human mess.
This space, Grace in the Weeds, exists to help you move away from the constant anxiety of trying to please an angry God, and move toward a faith rooted in real grace.
If you want to unlearn toxic theology, read my post on the purity club.
If your nervous system is overwhelmed and you just need to breathe, check out our Saturday blessings.
And if you can’t find the strength to attend a church but want to be a part of a gentle, trauma-informed community, visit Streams of Grace, our sister Substack.
You do not have to wander this desert alone. Pop your email below to get our free Tuesday insights and Saturday breath prayers. And if you need a closer community, consider joining us in the Friday Lab. You are welcome here.
